Jumping on the thankful train!

Here we are at our best!

I am so thankful for my family. All of my men! Scott (husband), Aiden (first born), Parker (baby)-for now, and lets not forget the dogs!

Each day until turkey day I will attempt to find the time to post about something I am thankful for.

Today its these guys.

My Husband
Scott Edward

My husband Scott and I have always known eachother.

We both attended local private schools through grade school then we transferred to the same high school.

We never dated in high school.

We were always just friends.

About three years after we graduated we ran into eachother at a party.

We were both fresh out of broken relationships.

We both worked full time jobs.

Sometimes I think that fate just kept shoving us back to each other.

We are just two peas in a pod.

Sometimes the pod gets a bit too tight.

Then we make pea soup.

We have had a lot of hard times. Those times continue to make us stronger.

We have stood beside each other through thick and thin (literally).

Through child loss. We lost 6 babies to misscarriage.

Through death. A very close friend and co-worker died tragically standing next to my husband.

Through job loss.

Through seperation.

We love each other more than the day we said I do for all of it!

Thank you Scott for being you. A reliable husband. A loyal friend. A dedicated father. Most of all thank you for making me laugh at myself everyday.

I love you.

Aiden Edward

I am so thankful for my first child.  I hope one day he knows how much his coming meant to me.  So much healing happend when I first saw his precious face.

He is my goof. My Aiden bug. My Misha Moo. My Suga.

He is a Momma's boy ( daddy too but this is my blog, sorry!).

He loves to "chuddle".

He says "Love you to the mooooooooon and back!" every night.

He is a blessing and holds a very special place in his mommas heart.

Parker Robert

I am so thankful for my second child! I hope he will always know how perfect his coming was to us! A brother! A brother!

I was so pleased to know that I was going to have a house full of stinky boys!

He is my Parkie Pig, my Roodie Face, my Roo Roo.

I adore him.

He is such a good baby.

He is excited to go to bed at night ( like his daddy)

He loves to break it down (like his mommy)

He is more than we could have ever hoped for!

I have so many things to be thankful for! I could go on and on! Which I plan to do for the next month!

Everybody Loves Grandpa Grimm

That's right! Everybody loves Grandpa Grimm! My Grandpa is the best grandpa! This is my Grandpa Bob and Grandma Darlene, his lovely wife of over 50 years.

My grandpa served in the Navy. He traveled the world and if you ask him about it I hope you have some time. He has lots of stories to tell. Ask him what a low lying polywog is. That ones my favorite.

He worked in "the mold shop" for many years and retired.  I can still remember how he smelled after working with machines all day.Not stinky, a metallic type smell.  Whenever I see oil stained hands on a man I smile and think of Grandpa.

He is a God fearing man. He believes in the Bible. Ive never seen him take a drink (well there was a mix up one time with some peach schnapps he thought was medicine). He loves animals. He loves his wife, his children, and his grandchildren (lucky me).

There is nothing like seeing someone you love, love someone you love.

My Aiden loves his Great Grandpa. Aiden calls him Papaw and often proclaims that "PAPAW IS SILLY!" and that he is!

That is Aiden and Grandpa strumming the guitar. He can read music and play just about anything by ear. He played base for Cornerstone Church back in the day.

He is proud to tell anyone that he was borned in a little shack West Virginia. His mother had to warm irons and lay them under sheets to keep her children's feet from frost bite in the winters. He was her only little boy. She lost two boys as infants prior to him. He was very special to her and he is very special to us.

He says worsh instead of wash, tiar instead of tire and VINEGAR DOG! when he gets angry. None of us know what in the world vinegar dog means. We do know that we like it and use it ourselves in his honor!

That's my Parker Robert on his birthday! He is the namesake to my daddy and his daddy! I'm very proud for my son to carry on their name!

Several years ago Grandpa was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease.  It has been all too quick in taking away abilities in grandpa. The man who has always taken care of us now needs our care.

Growing up if I needed anything I knew Grandpa would be there. Not only was he there but he was glad to be there. Loving and taking care of us was his great passion in life.  He loved to make us happy, him and grandma both.  I have been so blessed to have the unconditional love of my grandparents my entire life.  Love goes full circle. They took care of us, now it's time we take care of them.

There isn't much I can do for my grandparents.  I don't have a lot of money. I cant make them well. I know this is not what they want or expect anyway. All anybody really needs is love.  I can give them plenty of that!

I try to remind myself on the days I'm too busy or to lazy to go for a visit that if the tables were turned and I could no longer go the places I wanted to go or do the things I wanted to do they would be at my side and have no other place they would rather be.

Grandpa had been moved to a special Alzheimer's facility because my grandma can no longer care for him on her own.

My grandma told me last night that she has only stayed alone four times in 54 years.  Life is forever changing. FOREVER we learn something new.

The things that my grandpa has taught me are good things.  They are simple things.  Love your family, love your friends, give what you can, don't expect anything back, and do it because you want to.

Selling your house stinks.

Our house has been on the market for about two weeks now.

Selling our home is really exciting.

We purchased it as a repo and have done a lot of work to it. ( well I told my handyman husband what to do and he did the work. :-) )

The nice thing is we can sell it at a very fair price and still profit.  The sucky part is that I have a house picked out and I need to sell our house yesterday so we can make an offer!

It is a huge challenge to keep the crib clean with two babies aboard as well! I'm sure the boys are just about as sick of me chasing after them picking up and saying no no not there , I just made your bed, I just mopped, no more snacks. Its exhausting!

However, the excitement of a new future and fun changes with my family are worth it. Its awesome chasing our dreams together!

Today I learned that the boys have more energy than me. I always say things like that but I'm starting to realize its actually true. I'm getting old!

Sahm Tip of the day: Use kitchen Sheers A lot!

I use kitchen sheers a lot.

They are good for cutting:

Bananas
Grapes
Celery
Sandwich
Turkey Snack Sticks
Pizza
Frozen Yogi pops
Art work
Bills you don't want to pay

Just about anything you could cut with a knife but in a quarter of the time!

Happy Happy Halloween

Today I learned that Halloween is for big kids too!

We went to a costume party this weekend and it was the first time I've dressed up for Halloween in 10 years! We had a blast!

Sunday we took the boys trick or treating. Aiden loved it! He did a great job door to door remembering to say thank you to everyone. Parker just loved the sweets!

We didn't run into anything spooky. Which is a shame because I believe in ghost and quite like them, weird. I know.

I believe that sometimes I can sense a spirit around and usually its comforting.

I like visiting graveyards. I think they're  peaceful. I think the dead know something we don't and that they are Angels, spirits, energies, whatever you call it looking over is until we join them!
